Twin Wire Ferrules
2×0.5 – 2×16 mm² · catalogue labels 2×AWG 22 – 2×AWG 6 · 9 A – 95 A · 18 listed sizes

A twin wire ferrule takes two conductors into a single terminal — a flattened barrel with two entries, crimped in one operation. Also sold as twin bootlace ferrules, double wire ferrules, or twin cord end terminals.
The usual reason for using one is a daisy chain: a supply that has to feed two loads from one terminal point, where the terminal itself is only rated for one conductor.
Why not just twist two wires together?
Two loose conductors pushed into one screw terminal is the single most common cause of a loose connection in a control panel. The strands splay, the clamp bites unevenly, and one of the two wires ends up carrying the load through a fraction of its cross-section.
A twin ferrule solves it mechanically: both conductors are compressed into one solid, correctly sized cylinder, and the terminal clamps a single defined shape.
Check the terminal rating first. A twin ferrule makes the crimp sound, but it does not authorise a terminal to accept two conductors. If the terminal manufacturer specifies one conductor per clamping point, use a bridge or a distribution block instead.

The current rating is per conductor, not the sum. A 2×2.5 mm² ferrule is rated 30 A the same as a single 2.5 mm² — it does not carry 60 A. Size the ferrule to the conductors going into it, and size the circuit protection to the terminal.

FAQ
Can I put two different wire sizes into one twin ferrule?
It is not good practice. The barrel is sized for two conductors of equal cross-section; a mismatched pair leaves the smaller wire under-compressed. If you have to combine unequal sizes, use a distribution terminal.
What crimp profile does a twin ferrule need?
The same square or trapezoidal profile as a single ferrule — no special tool. SN-06WF covers up to 2×6 mm², HX-35WF covers 2×10 mm² and above.
Is the colour code the same as single ferrules?
It follows the same DIN 46228-4 colours for the individual conductor size, so a 2×1.5 mm² twin uses the 1.5 mm² colour. Note this differs between the DIN and French systems — quote the colour on the order if your drawing specifies one.
Do twin ferrules come non-insulated?
Not in this series. Non-insulated is single-conductor only — see non-insulated ferrules.
